took me a loooooong time to finally DO the Artists Way. I still struggle with "morning" pages being NOT a morning person, but the idea is good. I also got a lot out of "The Nine Modern Day Muses, and a body guard" by Jill Badonsky, a similar self help type book for blocked creatives. in the interest of full disclosure, the author is a friend... still, its worth a look.

I love The Artist's Way. Doing the exercises is a loving, spiritual journey. It allowed me to dream again.
Thank you for suggesting the group. I know a few people who would embrace this.

I'm just finishing up the last chapter in The Artist's Way and cannot tell enough people how it has changed my life. I've never been much of a believer in self-help books, but this book was a completely new experience. It helped to pull me out of a serious depression, made me realize I wanted to try making visual art, and helped me to reconnect to my writing (which is helpful since I’m a freelance writer!). Doing the work in the book has been worth more to me than any therapy session or angsty night of soul-searching. It’s helped me to remember and recover who I am. (I feel like a loon writing such strong statements about a book, but it’s all true. Loony or not.)
